We’re excited to share a series of upcoming events hosted by the Northwest Bergen Regional Health Commission! Our commitment to promoting health and wellness in our community continues with a variety of engaging programs designed for everyone.

Wednesday, November 6, 2024, Hillsdale Rabies Clinic

o   Location/Time: Stonybrook Swim Club (183 Cedar Lane) from 6-8 pm

o   Pre-registration is not required.

o   All dogs must be leashed, and a carrier must be provided for all cats.

o   Please bring pet tags and/or proof of previous rabies vaccination.

o   A friendly reminder that the clinic will start at the scheduled time, regardless of early arrivals. Please plan to arrive at 6 p.m. to give our staff adequate time to set up for the clinic.

Thursday, November 7, 2024, Waldwick Rabies Clinic

o   Location/Time: DPW Garage (19 Industrial Park) from 6-7:30 pm

o   Pre-registration is not required.

o   All dogs must be leashed, and a carrier must be provided for all cats.

o   Please bring pet tags and/or proof of previous rabies vaccination.

o   A friendly reminder that the clinic will start at the scheduled time, regardless of early arrivals. Please plan to arrive at 6 p.m. to give our staff adequate time to set up for the clinic.

Thursday, November 7, 2024, Preparing Your Home’s Exterior for Winter Weather @ River Vale Free Public Library

o   Location/Time: 412 Rivervale Road from 10-11 am

o   Join Alexandra from the Northwest Bergen Regional Health Commission to discuss affordable ways to prepare your home for the winter months, preventing falls and other unintentional injuries.

Saturday, November 9, 2024, River Vale Rabies Clinic

o   Location/Time: River Vale Community Center (628 Rivervale Rd) from 8:30-10:30 am

o   Pre-registration is not required.

o   All dogs must be leashed, and a carrier must be provided for all cats.

o   Please bring pet tags and/or proof of previous rabies vaccination.

o   A friendly reminder that the clinic will start at the scheduled time, regardless of early arrivals. Please plan to arrive at 8:30 am to give our staff adequate time to set up for the clinic.

Saturday, November 9, 2024, Emerson Rabies Clinic

o   Location/Time: DPW Building (1 Palisade Ave) from 11:00 am-12:00 pm

o   Pre-registration is not required.

o   All dogs must be leashed, and a carrier must be provided for all cats.

o   Please bring pet tags and/or proof of previous rabies vaccination.

o   A friendly reminder that the clinic will start at the scheduled time, regardless of early arrivals. Please plan to arrive at 11 am to give our staff adequate time to set up for the clinic.

Tuesday, November 12, 2024, Community Narcan Training @ Midland Park Memorial Library

o   Location/Time: 250 Godwin Ave from 7-8 pm

o   On behalf of the Borough of Midland Park and the Midland Park

Board of Health, please join NWBRHC and Bergen New Bridge for a course on recognizing the signs of an opioid overdose, understanding how the opioid overdose reversal drug Naloxone (Narcan) works, and how to administer Narcan.

o   Presentation by: Shelly Ray, Clinical Pharmacist, Bergen New Bridge Medical Center

Wednesday, November 13, 2024, Improving Your Memory @ Hillsdale Free Public Library

o   Location/Time: 509 Hillsdale Avenue from 11:30 am – 12:30 pm

o   This program is being held in partnership with Valley Health System.

o   Designed to provide you with an understanding of what is “normal” memory impairment as compared to a progressive memory loss due to a disease process. Causes of memory loss, as well as ways to keep memory intact, will be discussed.

o   Presentation by: Susan Breithaupt, LCSW, Health Educator

o   Register here.

Saturday, November 16, 2024, Montvale Rabies Clinic

o   Location/Time: Montvale DPW Building (1 Memorial Drive) from 9:30-11:00 am

o   Pre-registration is not required.

o   All dogs must be leashed, and a carrier must be provided for all cats.

o   Please bring pet tags and/or proof of previous rabies vaccination.

o   A friendly reminder that the clinic will start at the scheduled time, regardless of early arrivals. Please plan to arrive at 8:30 am to give our staff adequate time to set up for the clinic.
