Northwest Bergen Regional Health Commission is proud to share our April Community Spotlight on two organizations that offer vital services to residents in Bergen County:
The Food Brigade
The Food Brigade aims to ensure that no child or adult goes hungry within the state of New Jersey. This nonprofit organization consists of an operating network of providers and dedicated volunteers that assist in acquiring, transporting, preparing, distributing, and delivering prepared meals and fresh and/or packaged foods to individuals and families in need.
The Food Brigade provides various programs and offerings such as home-cooked meal preparation, diaper and menstrual product distribution for both infants and adults, and weekly client choice markets. In addition, this organization maintains an on-site food pantry with online ordering at its distribution center located in Dumont, NJ. Home delivery services may also be available for households that do not have transportation access to the food pantry.

Bergen County Ride Connect
The Bergen County Division of Community Transportation aims to provide safe and secure transportation services for residents (aged 60 years and older) by introducing the Ride Connect program. This program was designed to simplify requesting transportation with the Community Transportation operator and Mobility Manager.
The Ride Connect program aims to assist individuals with scheduled transportation options to senior centers, medical appointments, and day-to-day errands. Transportation options include EZ Ride, NJ Transit, Access Link, local town buses, etc.
If you are interested in requesting transportation services, please contact the Bergen County Division of Community Transportation at (201) 368-5955. The hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM.
