The Partnership for Maternal and Child Health of Northern New Jersey (PMCHNNJ)
The Partnership for Maternal and Child Health of Northern New Jersey (PMCHNNJ) is changing the paradigm in maternal health by amplifying, supporting, and empowering communities. The organization firmly believes that everyone must have access to safe, respectful births and that every family should have the opportunity to thrive.
Their initiatives promote healthy pregnancies, support new parents, and provide healthcare providers with vital resources and education. PMCHNNJ collaborates with hospitals, healthcare professionals, non-profit organizations, and community members to deliver comprehensive support, advocacy, and educational programs.
Highlighted programs offered by PMCHNNJ include:
Connecting NJ
A one-stop referral source for pregnancy, reproductive health, and parenthood support. This service connects community members with vital resources and programs across Bergen County. nj.gov/connectingnj
Immunization Programs
Community education programs about the importance of vaccinations for adults, expectant parents, and children for preventable diseases including the flu, COVID, HPV, and more.
Healthy Women, Healthy Families
Provides women with vital information about reproductive health, prenatal services, and postpartum services through resource referrals, individual support plans, and informational workshops.
Nurse-Family Partnership
A home visitation program that pairs nurses with first-time moms from pregnancy until the child’s second birthday. Mothers learn about well-woman care, prenatal care, child development, and family stability.
Perinatal Addictions Prevention Project (PAPP)
Provides tools and resources for those who are coping with addiction while pregnant.
Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program
Provides resources for a lead-free home to promote child development.
Prematurity Prevention Initiative (PPI)
Seeks to reduce the number of premature births and eliminate racial disparities in New Jersey.
Parents as Teachers
A home-visitation program that teaches new moms and families how to stimulate their babies and educate their toddlers.
Early Childhood Specialist Initiative
Offers strategies for infant and toddler development, promoting attachment and preschool readiness.
