Women’s Rights Information Center: December 2024

Dear Residents,

Northwest Bergen Regional Health Commission is proud to share our December 2024 Community Resource Spotlight on an organization that offers vital services to residents in Bergen County:

Women’s Rights Information Center

Established in 1973, Women’s Rights Information Center (WRIC) empowers individuals by providing resources for economic independence, self-sufficiency, and emotional well-being. Serving over 2,000 individuals annually, WRIC addresses housing stability, financial literacy, trauma therapy, peer support, and more, with a focus on low-income populations.

WRIC’s mission is to provide knowledge and opportunities to support the economic aspirations, self-sufficiency, and emotional well-being of individuals so they may live with hope, security, and dignity.

WRIC’s free or low-cost services for eligible clients, including:

  • Career and Displaced Homemaker Services: Entrepreneurship seminars, resume development, educational counseling, job training assistance, and career closet.
  • Victim Services: Crisis intervention and legal advocacy for survivors of domestic violence, human trafficking, and sexual assault.
  • Wellness Counseling: Evidence-informed individual and group therapy for trauma amelioration.
  • Education Services: ESL, citizenship, technology empowerment, and financial literacy programs.
  • Housing Assistance Services: Shared Housing and Housing Search & Placement services for those at risk of homelessness.
  • Supportive Services: Health and wellness workshops and peer support groups.
