Northwest Bergen Regional Health Commission is proud to share our August 2024 Community Resource Spotlight on an organization that offers vital services to residents in Bergen County:

Bergen County Special Services (BCSS) CAPE Resource Center

The mission of the Bergen County Special Services (BCSS) CAPE Resource Center is to serve individuals with disabilities from infancy to adulthood as a central point of contact for guidance and connection to accessible and appropriate resources. The Center is committed to helping individuals and families access resources to enrich all aspects of life.

The CAPE Resource Center is currently supervised by Dr. Nicole Fried, a School Psychologist for the past 23 years and a BCSS employee for the past 10 years. Dr. Fried is available to answer questions, help with applications, and provide support to families with children with disabilities.

Did you know that you don’t have to be a Bergen County resident to utilize CAPE’s services?

CAPE offers a variety of informational and educational workshops (conducted via Zoom) on topics such as Executive Functioning and School Success, Annual Camp/Recreation Expo, Internet Safety/Cyberbullying, Transition/Transition Planning, Support Groups, and Guardianship/Estate Planning/Special Needs Trusts. In addition, CAPE also offers free support groups for parents of children under 21 and over 21 years of age for information sharing and skills building.
